Privacy Policy
The Lair is a fan archive for King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, operated by Room 808 LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Account:your email and a chosen handle, to sign you in and identify your contributions.
- Your archive:shows you mark attended, ratings, private memories, collection entries, and marketplace listings.
- Photos & videos you add:concert media you choose to upload. Private by default; you choose per item whether a clip is public or only-you.
- Technical identifiers:a user id from our backend (Supabase) to associate your data with your account.
We do not collect location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
To run the app (authenticate you, store and display your archive, power your Pass, feed, and marketplace); to show your public contributions to other members only when you've made them public; and to keep the community safe by processing reports and enforcing blocks. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your data for advertising.
Connecting your Gmail (optional)
The Lair offers an optional way to fill your archive by finding concerts in your email. If — and only if — you choose to connect Gmail, we request read-only access (Google's gmail.readonly scope) for a single purpose: to find ticket-confirmation emails from ticketing vendors and read the show details from them.
- We only read messages from a fixed allowlist of ticketing senders (Ticketmaster, AXS, DICE, SeatGeek, Eventbrite, Live Nation, and similar). We never read, store, or transmit your personal correspondence.
- From matching emails we extract only the event details — artist, date, venue, city — to suggest shows for your archive. You confirm each one; nothing is added automatically.
- The connection is read-only. We cannot send, modify, label, or delete any email.
- Your Google authorization token is stored encrypted and used only to run the scans you ask for. Disconnect at any time in the app — that deletes the token.
- We do not use Gmail data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
The Lair's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who we share it with
- Supabase:our backend, authentication, database, and file storage, storing your data on our behalf.
- archive.org:when you play a show's recording, audio streams from the Internet Archive, where the band publishes its free boots. We don't send them your identity.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
User content & moderation
The Lair lets members add photos, listings, and posts. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behavior. Every piece of user content can be reported, and every member can be blocked, from within the app. Reported content is automatically hidden once flagged by multiple members and reviewed by us. To request removal, contact us below.
Your choices
- Photos and profiles are private by default; you choose what to make public.
- Remove any photo, listing, memory, or logged night at any time in the app.
- Contact us to delete your account and associated data, or to request a copy of your data.
Children
The Lair is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
